Hello Qsac West members with the end of the season around the corner its time to consider who will fill the outgoing positions on the Board. Rudy Flores and Jim Turner have severed out their two year term. Jason Hearing , Jim Turner and Bill Spears have been nominated to run for the spots . We will be taking a member vote on this coming up in the near future .
Well racers the end of the 2019 season is fast approaching October 19th at Boulder City RC Speedway in Nevada. We will be having the banquet at a local Mexican restaurant after the days racing. Awards will be handed out pictures will be taken and plenty of race stories will be told, plan to join us .
Hello fellow racers! Well the dust has settled from an outstanding weekend of racing! I can’t thank each and every one of you enough for making this weekend a success! We had absolutely perfect weather, some awesome racing, and a lot of laughs as usual! We had a couple new faces come play with us, as well as saw a few old faces we hadn’t seen in quite some time, with the thoughts of possibly coming back soon, which is always a good thing!
Both days we had some great racing on the track! In Limited Sportsman we had Ryan Heinle showing the field how it’s done on Saturday, but wasn’t able to join us Sunday so the race was wide open with some very close battles between Bill Spears and Peter Hauer, with Bill coming out on top at the end of the race. In Open Wheel we had 3 very close/competitive cars both days with Rudy Flores staying out of trouble and getting the win on Saturday, then Sunday was a very close battle again, but at the end it was Alan Lay taking the win! Sportsman had 4 cars over the weekend battling, Jason Herring leading most of it and the most important last lap on Saturday in a rental ride, but he had issues and couldn’t start the main Sunday opening the door for Maggie Turner to take the win! Super Trucks was dominated by Mike Wright the whole weekend, no one had anything for him as he won all 4 heat races and 2 mains over the weekend! Then the all so competitive Grand National. We have 7 GNs all within a tenth of a second of each other throughout the whole weekend! Super fast (4.95 second laps) and close racing. Saturday found the top 3 finishing on the same lap, after 200 laps was done we had Alan Lay taking the Checkered Flag, then on Sunday we had the ultimate show. A different top 3 in the mix all race long. Swapping the lead back and forth between Chris Cramer, Mike Lubanovich, and Jim Turner. Jim Turner in the first showing of his new LT3 car, and Chris Cramer with his 2Concepts test mobile that was thought of and created within 2 weeks of this race weekend. And what a debut weekend he had with it coming out with the win on Sunday! After the win I believe he got about 10 orders for new cars! (give or take a few, lol) Oh and we won’t talk about the hex I put on him on Saturday keeping him from sweeping the weekend. Sorry Chris! All in all a very successful weekend! Thank you again all who made the trip out to join us, as well as the Orange Show Quarter Midget Track, Stacy, for providing us with some super good food at the snack bar as well!
Remember, the next race has been moved to the October 19th weekend in Boulder!
It will be a One Day race with our 2019 Banquet to follow. I will be there to run the show again and looking forward to it! The banquet will be held at the local Mexican Food Restaurant (Toto’s) right up the street from the track, right after the racing is complete. The updated points have been posted, as well as the updated schedule!
Here’s the overall results from this past weekend!
Quarter Scale Racing @ Orangeshow Quarter Midget Speedway
Race Weekend is fast approaching . Come out and join us on September 21 and 22 for some exciting door to door Quarter Scale Circle Track RC racing. Orangeshow Quarter Midget Speedway in San Bernadino ,CA will be hosting the race.
Let this notice serve as an official Qsac West Racing announcement.
Qsac West Racing club unfortunately will be canceling this years Super Nationals race in October at Boulder City RC Raceway. A race of this magnitude takes considerably more resources monetarily and human than a typical race does and the reality is that time got away from us. We look towards next year when we come back hopefully bigger and better.
The race schedule for the remaining year has been changed to reflect the drop of the Super Nationals and the 13thand final race will be moved up in time to fill the dated slot at Boulder. That is in lieu of the Super Nationals on October 19-21 , the Banquet and final race will move from its November date to October 19that Boulder City Raceway . Details for the banquet are in the works , we will keep you all posted.
So the dust has settled from another successful Summer Nights Under The Lights this past weekend at the OrangeShow Speedway! Thank you to all the racers that made it out! We also had a great showing from the 10th Scale Slash Mod class as well. It was hot during the day but that made for perfect night time racing!
Next race, Points Races 11 & 12 will be held at the OrangeShow as well on September 21st & 22nd. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Here’s the winners of each class from last Saturday Night!!!
The season has 10 races behind us only 3 points races left. There has been a correction on the points in Sportsman. Race #4 in Boulder , Maggie Turner’s car broke and was subsequently taken back to the pits. Ultimately Maggie did finish 3rd and her car didn’t make it to tech , for this reason as per the rules her third place points of 96 were corrected to reflect a DQ of 75 points , plus the 5 points for participation. The Sportsman series is teetering by just a couple of points now between Todd Understiller and last years champ Maggie Turner. Limited Sportsman has Pete Hauer in a commanding lead. Sprint Class has Jeff Spruitenberg up front with conformable lead. Truck Class has Mike Wright up front , with Josh Charrett at his feels and Grand National is heating up with Lubanovich , Spruitenberg, Jim Turner and Alan Lay all clamoring for position . Come join in on the excitement and fun . To see the current points standings see the Points Standings page from the drop down menu .
Denny Andrewshere, the dust finally settled after last race weekend and I’m finally able to post up a report… First and foremost, we have absolutely the best racers out here with Qsac West, hands down!!! Track opened Friday at noon, many racers took advantage of a full day of practice with some good music playing all day, but we started the weekend with a major threat of rain on Sunday, pretty much eliminating our chances of doing our ‘now norm’ 2 day/2 race schedule… So early Saturday morning the idea was tossed out there, “Hey, let’s run both shows today!?!” We talked to all the racers and BAM we’re going to do 2 full race programs in 1 day, get it done so everyone can enjoy the rest of their Memorial Day Weekend with their families! And I must say, it went off without a hitch… thanks to all of you racers for making the schedule work, being ready for your races, and most importantly having BIG smiles throughout the whole day with some awesome racing! So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to all you racers for making my job easy this past Saturday!!!
The racing was outstanding all day, the track was in perfect shape was real close to breaking that 4 second lap time barrier again. We had 23 entries participate in both race schedules, spread out fairly even across the 5 classes we run, with our premier class Grand National having 7 and putting on an awesome race! I believe the fast lap in GN was a 5.01, the fourth fastest lap in that class was a 5.08, that’s 7 thousandths of a second separating the top 4, and the final 3 were within a 10th of a second of that, so very fast and close racing in that class. We had a new driver join us this week in the Truck class, John Barnett, coming from the 10th Scale Dirt Oval world and did an outstanding job jumping right into a fast class. Always great to see new faces, which usually brings more new faces… Listed below are the final results per race and I also added the updated points here on the page as well…
Again, THANK YOU to each and every one of my QSAC West family for making the trip and putting up with me for the day. I had a great time watching all of you having a great time! Until the next one!!!
